Overview
This article explains why the following error may occur under the Major Netherlands rule.
Major Netherlands Total Nominal Capital result unknown
Unknown:1erroroccurred:invalidpropertymultiple,checkdenominatorsfor0values
This error occurs when a divide-by-zero issue occurs in the Netherlands major holdings calculation, typically related to shares that have no nominal (par) value.
Background
Under Dutch law, companies can legally issue shares without a nominal value. When this happens, both ParValue and TotalIssuedNominalCapitalNL may legitimately be zero according to AFM (Autoriteit Financiële Markten) data.
In most cases where shares have no nominal value, both ParValue and TotalIssuedNominalCapitalNL will be zero. Making sure both fields accurately reflect the AFM register data should resolve the calculation error.
How to Resolve This Error
Step One: Check AFM Register Data
Review the AFM register to confirm the published values for the following properties directly within your FundApps environment.
TotalIssuedNominalCapitalNL
ParValue
Navigate to Monitoring > Shareholding Disclosure > Rules > Regulatory Data > General > Dutch Share Classes.
Use the column headers to filter for a specific Dutch issuer.
Step Two: Verify Your Data
If the AFM shows Total Placed Capital as zero (TotalIssuedNominalCapitalNL within your results), the published zero value will be used by FundApps.
Double-check that your ParValue field accurately reflects the AFM data (Nominal Value within the AFM data table).
If ParValue should also be zero according to the AFM, set an override to apply the zero value to your position.
Step Three: Apply Overrides
Change ParValue to zero via an override if that matches the AFM data. ParValue is an instrument-level property, which means you can use the ISIN, InstrumentId, or InstrumentName as the condition property.
Overrides for TotalIssuedNominalCapital can only be applied when the AFM does not provide any value, which is very rare.
