How Are Date and Time Displayed in Data Tables?

Updated this week

Overview

Date and Time (DateTime) values are represented in a consistent, predictable way to help users easily understand when actions occurred or data was updated.

This article explains how DateTime values are presented across the platform and how to interpret them.

How DateTime Values Are Displayed

All DateTime values in data tables are shown using the following format:

DD-MM-YYYY HH:MM

This format is used consistently across all views where DateTime values appear.

Timezone Behaviour

DateTime values are always shown in the time zone of your local computer.

This ensures the times you see align with your own system settings, regardless of where the data originated.

Tooltips and Timezone Details

While the table display focuses on readability, additional timezone detail is available when needed:

  • Hovering over a DateTime value will display a tooltip.

  • The tooltip displays the full date and time, including the exact time zone used.

This allows you to quickly confirm precise timing without cluttering table views.

Where This Applies

This behaviour applies to all data tables and views, including:

  • Takeover Lists

  • Previous Uploads

  • Data Overrides

  • Transactions

  • Users

  • Rules

  • Rule Version History

Generally, any table that displays date and time values follows this approach.
