Initial Parameterised Rule Templates

FundApps has initially developed four parameterised rule templates for clients to configure and assign to portfolios and entities. Additional rule templates will be added by FundApps based upon client demand but will be at the discretion of FundApps.

Issuer - Total Shares Outstanding

For a given issuer, set a limit based on the % of Total Shares Outstanding you wish to be alerted to if your total economic exposure is close to or exceeds. If a holding exceeds the percentage limit, a breach alert will be flagged.

For example, a user could configure the below in the Issuer - Total Shares Outstanding rule.

Issuer UpperLimit (% TSO) Comment
Apple 0.2 0.2% limit in Apple
Lidl 1 1% limit in Apple
Wetherspoons 0 Restricted investment in Wetherspoons

This rule can be configured at both entity and portfolio levels, allowing users to calculate and monitor their total economic exposure to issuers they may have internal limits in (total of Equities, equity derivatives and composite look-through).

For issuers investment managers may be blocked from investing in, a user can set the percentage limit to 0%.

Country Exposure

For a given country, set the % of portfolio exposure you wish to be alerted to if you are coming close or exceeding. The country is based upon Country Of Incorporation and must be a valid ISO country code.

For example

Country UpperLimit (% Total Net Assets) Comment
US 2 2% limit in US
FR 10 10% limit in FR

This rule is intended to be configured at the Portfolio level.

Currency Exposure

For a given currency, set the % of portfolio exposure you wish to be alerted to if you are coming close or exceeding. The currency is based upon the instrument currency and must be a valid ISO currency code.

For example

Currency UpperLimit (% Total Net Assets) Comment
USD 5 2% limit in USD
EUR 10 10% limit in EUR

This rule is intended to be configured at the Portfolio level.

Asset Class Exposure

For a given asset class set the % of portfolio exposure you wish to be alerted to if you are coming close or exceeding. The asset class is based upon the FundApps asset class you have mapped instruments to and must match the FundApps value set.

For example

Asset Class UpperLimit (% Total Net Assets) Comment
Equity 15 15% limit in Equity instruments
Convertible 2 2% limit in Convertible instruments

This rule is intended to be configured at the Portfolio level.
