Forms and Document Coverage

Overview

The filing submission process can vary depending on the regulator overseeing the disclosure and the level of document coverage for the rule. We strive to offer detailed information and assistance for each rule within our platform. This information can be found in the Instructions tab on a rule’s detail page. This tab provides details from FundApps and the aosphere memo to help you navigate the submission process at every document coverage level.

Once a disclosure result is triggered, the option to Generate Documents for filing becomes available. The format of the form(s) will depend on the regulator's requirements. Depending on the level of document coverage, certain fields may need to be edited or manually input. More on this is explained below.

Document Coverage Levels

FundApps aims to streamline the disclosure filing process, and many common regulatory forms are fully automated. We offer five levels of document coverage: Low, Basic, Good, Complete, and FM Ready.

Below, we briefly explain each level of document coverage. For a comprehensive list of the different levels for each rule, organized by jurisdiction, please refer to this link.

FM Ready

The FM Ready level provides a seamless experience. The documents listed here are generated perfectly and can be filed with the regulator in a few clicks directly within the UI. Automation is at 100%, and users only need to confirm the data's accuracy before submission.

Complete

At the Complete level, regulatory analysis is thorough, and all common fields and tables are populated, including free text fields. The template format aligns perfectly with regulatory requirements. Users only need to confirm the data's accuracy before submitting it to the regulator.

Good

This level offers comprehensive regulatory analysis and an automated population of common fields and tables for which we have relevant data. Free text fields are not populated, but the template format matches regulatory requirements, except for specific portal formats. Users may need to copy-paste information from our form to the regulator portal or manually insert specific information in free text fields.

Basic

The Basic level involves ongoing regulatory analysis and populates common fields, such as the company name. While the template format may not precisely match the regulator’s expected format, automation is moderate. Users are still required to complete the form before submission.

Low

At the Low level, no regulatory analysis is performed. Templates are available in the system without data being populated, and automation is minimal. Users must complete the form manually before submitting it to the regulator.

Free Text Fields

Free text fields have been introduced to the document generation process to increase the level of automation in our disclosure forms.

Depending on the disclosure form, regulators might offer a field where users input extra information that FundApps cannot determine, or filers may wish to add clarifying comments.

The free text fields can be found under Form Properties > Editable Properties. This section displays any applicable validation requirements, such as character limitations or the difference between mandatory and non-mandatory fields, based on regulatory guidance.

Once the free text is added, the user must save their changes before generating a report; this will ensure the desired text is populated in the document.

These fields can be saved at a result level, meaning it will only be applicable for that result or at that Entity level, meaning the text will be populated across all results for that given Entity.
