Data Adapter

Overview

In partnership with leading market data providers, Data Adapter is a managed service that sources and maintains the market data needed for the Shareholding Disclosure service, so you don’t have to.

Clients upload their holdings to Data Adapter in a CSV file. The service then sources all necessary market data from your chosen 3rd-party vendor. An XML file will be automatically generated for use by the Shareholding Disclosure service.

Coverage

Please contact us for a full list of data vendors and asset classes covered by Data Adapter.

API

We provide a RESTful HTTPS API for automated interfaces between your systems and our Data Adapter service.

The base URL will be shared as part of your implementation process.

You authenticate to the Data Adapter API via Basic Authentication over HTTPS. A named administrator from your organisation must create a user with the role "API" for this purpose.

For information on integrating via API, please navigate to our TechDocs.

File Specification

Data Adapter requires a simplified subset of data that we ask for within our Shareholding Disclosure onboarding process and enriches the rest of the data directly from your chosen data vendor.

We offer a detailed breakdown of the properties you must send to Data Adapter in the CSV file. The values populated in the CSV file will be carried over in the generated XML file.

Identifiers

You can choose between ISIN, SEDOL, CUSIP, and DataProviderId as the CSV file identifiers. Data Adapter will use this information to look up data from your chosen provider.

If multiple are populated and you haven't specified which to use in the API request, the ISIN is used by default.

If one identifier is chosen, you do not have to populate the others. In certain cases, it may be necessary to include both, as identical ISINs exist.
