Portfolio Viewer

The Portfolio Viewer provides insight into all asset holdings under a selected entity, portfolio or umbrella along with their respective property values. Many clients utilize this page to verify the holdings that are included in the positions file. The Portfolio Viewer is relatively simple but can be a very effective tool if used properly.

Where to Find the Portfolio Viewer Page

Listed below are the steps a client must take to reach the Portfolio Viewer page for a respective Entity, Portfolio or Umbrella.

1. Click the “Portfolios and Entities” under the “Portfolio and Entities” dropdown located in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

2. Once the entity or portfolio of interest is determined, click the “Assets on…” under the “Last Data Column” located towards the right of the page.

When completing Step 2, it is important to keep in mind that the entity level will display every asset in each portfolio of that entity, while the portfolio level will only display the assets for that portfolio.

Searching Assets and Filtering Properties

Once on the Portfolio Viewer page, you can search for holdings by using any of the text boxes at the top of some columns. These are AssetId, AssetName, AssetClass, ISIN, IssuerId, and Issuer Name.

Similarly, these can also be used to filter results. For example, if you wanted to look at ADR’s under a specific issuer, you would type “ADR” in the AssetClass text box and “IssuerXYZ” in the IssuerName text box.

Aggregation Structures, Look Throughs, and Changed Positions

When viewing the Portfolio Viewer page, you’ll see “Aggregation Structure:...” which will indicate the aggregation structure you are currently filtered on. To amend this, select the "Filter" box on the left where you'll see a dropdown with alternative options.

The filter dropdown also contains an option to select “Include look-throughs." By checking this box, all look-throughs will be visible. The table is organized in a way where each underlying asset will be listed directly under the parent asset.

Lastly, you will see an option to select “Only show changed positions”. By checking this box, the holdings will be filtered to only show holdings that have had a change since the previous file upload.

Color-coding Explained

The value cells will be white, orange, or blue.

  • White  - Indicates a value has not changed from the previous upload.

  • Orange - Indicates there has been a change since the previous upload. Hovering over an orange cell will display both the current and previous value.

  • Blue - Indicates a value that is in place as a result of an existing override. Hovering over a blue cell will display the original value.
