Overview
This article covers the Global Settings properties used to construct the base template for 13G disclosures. This will be a new form variation for your 13G filings and will serve as the template for all 13G issuer filings.
Once the form variation is set up, you may refer to the 13G Form Properties article to learn how to use Free Text Fields for filing, which are designed to customise form values.
13G Related Global Settings
FundApps provides the following Global Settings properties to determine which entities and portfolios are included in the generated form:
IncludeEntitiesUS13GForm
If enabled, includes all entities associated with the filer. Entities are set to True by default.
IncludePortfoliosUS13GForm
If enabled, includes all portfolios associated with the filer. Portfolios are set to True by default.
IncludeCustomEntitiesAndPortfoliosUS13GForm
If enabled, allows you to manually specify which entities and portfolios to include.
This property overrides IncludeEntitiesUS13GForm and IncludePortfoliosUS13GForm and only includes entities/portfolios where the property IsIncludedInUS13GForm is set to True. Set to False by default.
Important Note: When IncludeCustomEntitiesAndPortfoliosUS13GForm is enabled, you must set the IsIncludedInUS13GForm property for all entities and portfolios - both those to include (True) and those to exclude (False).
Exclude5PercentOrLessUS13GForm
If enabled, it excludes any entities or portfolios where the holding is 5% or less of the class of securities from the 13G filing. This property is set to false by default.
Portfolio Property: IsIncludedInUS13GForm
As part of this update, we have introduced a new portfolio property called IsIncludedInUS13GForm. This property allows you to customise at the entity/portfolio level whether that entity or portfolio should be included in Form 13G filings.
This property is only used when the global setting IncludeCustomEntitiesAndPortfoliosUS13GForm is enabled.
How It Works
This property is located in the Form Properties section of the portfolios/entities page, under section Form 13G.
Set to True for entities/portfolios you want included in the form.
Set to False for entities/portfolios you want excluded from the form.
Important: When using custom selection mode, you must explicitly set this property for all entities and portfolios.
The IsIncludedInUS13GForm property gives you complete control over form composition and is particularly useful for clients who previously used the MajorUS-13G-Top template (see template below to replicate the previous 13G form variations).
How to Replicate the Previous Template Behaviour
To replicate the behaviour of your previously used templates, configure the settings as follows:
Note for MajorUS-13G-Top Users
Set IncludeCustomEntitiesAndPortfoliosUS13GForm to True.
Set IsIncludedInUS13GForm to True for your top entity only.
Set IsIncludedInUS13GForm to False for all other entities and portfolios.
If you have IncludeCustomEntitiesAndPortfoliosUS13GForm set to True, it will override the other two Global Settings of IncludeEntitiesUS13GForm and IncludePortfoliosUS13GForm.
FAQs
Q: What if I want to use multiple form variations, for example, I file at the top level for one issuer and multiple entities for another issuer? How do I set this up?
A: Global Settings only allow one form variation to be applied across all 13G disclosures at a time. If you need different form variations for different issuers, you must:
Update Global Settings to match the desired form variation (see the table above under “How to Replicate the Previous Template Behaviour”).
Make sure to save your changes.
Rerun the applicable file upload.
To generate a different variation for another issuer, repeat these steps by updating Global Settings again and rerunning the file. Because Global Settings apply system-wide, they must be adjusted each time you switch form variations.
